Drawing and development process
I created Valentino de la Rossa as an unapologetically queer character with a generous body, a sharp sense of humor and a very pink point of view. From early shape and personality studies to finished editorial illustrations, the project grew into an original visual universe about self-expression, desire, friendship and pride—made for people who rarely saw themselves as the hero of the picture.
Loose anatomy studies, facial explorations and reference-driven sketches show how Valentino’s silhouette, gestures and attitude were designed before the signature pink world took over.
